Join us for our next Teen/YA book group meeting at The Little Bookshop!
Wednesday 21 October, 4:30 - 5:30 pm, £7/ticket
After a successful launch event last month, our teen/YA book group meets for more reading adventures in October. If you are in Years 7-9, enjoy exploring books of all genres and have a creative streak please join us.
This month we’ll be discussing R.W.R. McDonald’s entertaining YA mystery novel, The Nancys and the Case of the Missing Necklace (£9.99). It’s the first book in a new series inspired by the classic American Nancy Drew books, which were first published in 1930. Set in a small town in New Zealand, independent Tippy is being looked after by her uncle and his boyfriend while her single mum is away on holiday. When her teacher is found dead and her best friend has a serious accident, Tippy and her crazy, irresponsible guardians turn detective and “The Nancys” is born.
We’ll also be coming up with ideas for a whizzy book group name, the winner to be decided by author Darren Simpson, and launching our logo competition
Book your place, online or at the bookshop. Tickets are £7 and include refreshments (and a discount of 10% on book group titles).
