Pageturners is back with more reading fun this autumn. We are a welcoming, interactive book group for 8-11 year-olds which meets at The Little Bookshop on a monthly basis. 2026 is the National Year of Reading and we welcome new members to join us for book chat and creative fun.
This month, we’ll be talking about artist Mika Song’s whimsical graphic novel, Night Chef. The talented Night Chef lives inside the diner walls, creating new recipes and honing her culinary skills. But will she ever be accepted? When she finds Ichi, a lost baby crow with a taste for ramen, Night Chef embarks on an adventure to help him find home.
Mika Song provides some drawing tips at the end of her brilliant graphic novel, so you can practise drawing your own Night Chef (and perhaps experiment with some recipes!).
Ask an adult to book you a place, online or at the bookshop. Tickets are £7 and include refreshments (and a Pageturners discount of 10% on book group titles).
Adults should be present at the session but are not required to pay for a ticket (max. one adult per child).
