More Murder in the Village with author Laura Jayne Ayres
Thursday 2 October, 7-8:30 pm
“It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.” – Sherlock Holmes
Author and puzzle-master extraordinaire, Laura Jane Ayres, returns to The Little Bookshop, Chapel Allerton, for another entertaining, interactive event. There’s more murder, mayhem and mishaps in Wobberley Edge as residents prepare for their annual Winter Festival. A Front-Page Crime embroils the amateur sleuths in a tangled plot involving spies, blackmail… and huge quantities of fondue cheese. When another body turns up in their otherwise idyllic village, the group will have to pool their skills and ingenuity to find a quick-witted killer on the loose.
Laura is the co-author (with Dr Gareth Moore) of many puzzle books for adults, including The Murder Mystery Club series and – for animal lovers – Purrdle and Woofdle (publishing in October 2025). She’ll share her passion for puzzling, and more tips for constructing the perfect puzzle to test the reader’s logic and powers of deduction. There’ll be author Q & A and Laura will also be signing sign copies of The Murder Mystery Club: A Front-Page Crime (£9.99).
Tickets are £7.00 and include refreshments. Booking is essential, online or at the bookshop.
