Feminist Women Reading and Writing: An Evening with Amy Beashel at The Little Bookshop, Chapel Allerton.
Thursday 12 June, 7-8 pm
Our team of feminist booksellers is pleased to welcome back author Amy Beashel to celebrate the publication of her new novel, Bad Manners. Like her adult fiction debut, Spilt Milk, it’s a darkly provocative, powerful book that tackles the ever-present issues of misogyny, sexism and harassment. Inspired by the famous 2018 Financial Times exposé of the annual men-only Presidents Club dinner at The Dorchester Hotel in London, this searing novel raises important concerns about the treatment of women in a post-pandemic world. Has #MeToo really resulted in material, lasting change for girls and women? Amy will share her research, insights and writing challenges in what promises to be an unmissable, inclusive event.
Make sure you purchase your copy of Bad Manners to read in advance of the event, available at a special 15% discount when purchased with a ticket (£16.99 RRP). There will be a chance to chat to Amy at the end of the evening, enjoy a glass of fizz and have your book signed.
